During the business plan meeting there was a brief discussion about the legislation proposed by Congressman Michaud to create a Northeast Regional Development Commission. The link below will take you to a complete draft of H.R. 1695. If you take a look at section 4 and beyond I think you will find some significant linkages to your efforts. The legislation probably will not pass during the lame duck session and there may be some changes to the bill's wording during the next session so stay tuned for future updates.
If or when the legislation passes Maine Mountain Heritage will have a huge head start on others who might compete for funds. If you have any questions please give me a call at 207-942-6935.
